Report detailing the findings of the Scoping Study in the Baro-Akobo-Sobat (BAS) sub-basin, as part of the BAS Multi-Purpose Water Resource Development Study. It identifies sector-wise sources of information, details the scope of work for the basin-wide approach adopted, and identifies the scope of work for potential and planned interventions, including information gaps and ways to plug the gaps.

Inception Report of the Baro-Akobo-Sobat Multi-Purpose Water Resource Development Study that outlines the context, describes the activities carried out during the Inception Phase, the scoping exercises carried out and preliminary findings, component-wise methodology going forward, progress on developing the consultation and communication plan, the work programme, staffing and staff deployment.

Annex supporting the Report of the Baseline Study in the Baro-Akobo-Sobat (BAS) sub-basin, as part of the BAS Multi-Purpose Water Resource Development Study. It describes the basin’s socio-environmental set up and identifies existing and potential challenges to its natural and social environment. It attempts to obtain local knowledge and indicates how to conserve the fragile environment of the basin and integrate environmental issues in the proposed integrated water resource development plan of the BAS sub-basin.

This reports on the second national-level consultative workshop held to (1) introduce the BAS MWRDS project, under the regional framework for cooperation on the Nile waters, and the guiding principles of its parent program, the Eastern Nile Subsidiary Action Program (ENSAP), which is part of the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI); and to (2) understand the water resources, social, environmental and climate change issues in the BAS region from local perspectives.
