- PublicationWater Atlas of the Blue Nile Sub-Basin(2006)The One System Inventory (OSI) Water Atlases are prepared for the four main sub-basins of the Eastern Nile: Abay-Blue Nile, Baro-Akobo-Sobat-White Nile, Tekeze-Atbara-Setit, and Main Nile. The Atlases are essentially provided with maps, charts and general information/brief descriptions about the sub-basins land, climate, hydrology, infrastructure and utilities, and few environmental issues. The sub-basin maps included are location, administrative, population density, elevation, shaded relief, terrain/landscape classification, surficial geology, dominant soils, rainfall, temperature, evaporation, humidity, sub-catchment drainage network, runoff, vegetation cover, landuse/landcover, isoerodent/sediment yield and malaria-prone areas. Whereas schematics of indicative water balance are presented for the main rivers of the EN sub-basins, maps showing existing and potential irrigation and hydropower projects are not incorporated.

- PublicationSocial Atlas: Eastern Nile Basin Countries(2006)The Social Atlas provides different maps depicting major social indicators in the Eastern Nile basin disaggregated by major political divisions in the countries. These include demographic and socio-economic topics such as population size and growth rates; unemployment; living standards (poverty headcount index, access to safe water and improved sanitation); health (life expectancy, infant & maternal mortality rate, child malnutrition, birth attended by skilled personnel, HIV/AIDS); education (adult literacy rate, primary & secondary education enrollment ratios, school drop-out rate, gender parity index). The Atlas can help increase users’ understanding of the region. However, other social indicators such as household sizes, fertility rates, income per capita, sources of income, etc. are not included.

- PublicationThe One System Inventory, Information on the Eastern Nile Basin.Vol I: Sub-Basin Summaries(2009)These documents present the first trial version of the One System Inventory (OSI) information on the Eastern Nile: meant to serve as a regional knowledge-base across Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan. The information is organized into a summary report and four more detailed annexes on the four main trans-boundary sub-basins of the Eastern Nile (Abay-Blue Nile, Baro-Akobo-Sobat-White Nile, Tekeze-Setit-Atbara, and Main Nile). The work benefited from previously compiled national thematic OSI reports on environment, socio-economics and water in 2006 and the OSI synthesis reports in 2007, as well as from comments and suggestions received from regional workshop and meetings.
